Altyn-Emel State National Nature Park is sprawled in the heart of Central Asia, in the valley of the Ili River, about 150 kilometres away from Almaty, Kazakhstan’s largest city. The park was established in 1996 to preserve the unique natural complex of this region.

Baikonur Cosmodrome is a spaceport located in southern Kazakhstan. It is the world's first and largest operational space launch facility. The spaceport is located in the desert steppe of Baikonur, about 200 kilometres (124 mi) east of the Aral Sea and north of the river Syr Darya. It is near the Tyuratam railway station and is about 90 metres (300 ft) above sea level.
South Kazakhstan Region is considered to be one of the most ancient and historically rich region of Kazakhstan and Central Asia. All ancient cities were located in this region, that is why there are so many historical monuments and mausoleums full of mystery.
